Rain or shine, GARNER welcomes community members to explore the historic grounds of the 14 acre Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center. GARNER Arts Center curates exhibitions and sculptural installations spread throughout the vast 19th Century industrial spaces, inviting artists to view art & performance in warehouses, alleyways, trails, and other unexpected places. Audiences are invited to explore 30+ open artist studios including; painters, sculptors, woodworkers, jewelers and photographers. Workshops are available including batik, watercolor painting, printmaking, and a drum circle, among others. A kid’s corner keeps young artists active and music, theatre, and dance provide the festival’s live performance offerings. Food trucks, craft vendors, a beer & wine garden, and a coffee bar round out the weekend’s festivities. New this year, audiences will be able to enjoy an on-site craft brewery, Industrial Arts Brewing Company, founded by renowned Brew Master Jeff O’Neil!
For the 2017 GARNER Arts Festival, exhibitions, installations, and performances will be focused on the subject of Social Justice.“ (1) inclusion of everyone in the full benefits of society and (2) empowerment of people to participate fully in the economic, social, and cultural life of the country.” – Institute for Intellectual Property & Social Justice.
