Discover the largely forgotten yet harrowing tale of Chief Nimham and his people. Dispossessed of their lands and fighting for their survival during the American Revolution, Daniel Nimham and the Wappingers were one of the few Native American nations to fight for the Patriots during the Revolutionary War. In 1778 Nimham and his son led the Stockbridge Militia in an epic battle in the Bronx against the notorious Captain Simcoe. Hear the tale of this skirmish and discover the fate of Chief Nimham and his people during this slide lecture.
