Weekend Family Workshops
July 21, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00pm on Sunday and Saturday, repeating until August 26, 2018
Weekends at the Edward Hopper House offer ongoing family art workshops led by our “Nighthawk” teen docents. Each workshop is related to the artwork on display in the main gallery. Filling a gap in arts education, this program gives families immediate access to high quality art, offering deeper insights into the exhibitions and local history presented at the Edward Hopper House.
July: Happy Birthday Hopper!
This July 22nd, we celebrate Hopper’s 136th Birthday! Explore Hopper’s artistic influence on the use of shadow in Wayne Thiebaud’s birthday cake paintings.
August: The Spirit of Nyack
Artist John Morton, of the EHH garden sound installation “Fever Songs,” finds inspiration from the chants and song of religious expression around the world- explore Hopper’s take on the many historical churches throughout Nyack in this drawing workshop.
(This is not a drop-off event. The workshop is free with the accompanying guardians’ admission to the House.)
