During the strange, dark time that was the pandemic, Hippie Dippie Threads owner Brittany Verrino found her light in the creative process.
A former educator for close to a decade, Brittany taught science and wellness courses at a Special Education school. When Covid struck and everyone was mandated to be home, Brittany began to dream about her next career move.
“I spent my time crafting, being outside, and doing some kind of movement,” Brittany recounts. “I felt so happy and I wanted to start a business that would give me the freedom to be creative, share my love for comfort and style, and live a lifestyle with good intention.”
Hippie Dippie Threads is your one stop shop for elevated comfort inspired by 70s fashion with a modern-day twist. The store offers styles that can easily transition day into night. HDT aims to meet the demands of the customer’s busy life while keeping them looking cute and in true Covid-rooted fashion, comfortable, around the clock.
“We have a large age range of women who enjoy our threads and wear them to work, while they travel, for movement and as loungewear,” Brittany says. “Our target shoppers value comfort above all else.”
Although Hippie Dippie Threads began as an online store, Brittany got a lot of face time with her future customers by attending Nyack’s street fairs. Acting as a vendor allowed her to organically grow and interact with future customers and as a Nyack native, the village was the natural choice for her first brick-and-mortar shop.
“I have always loved Nyack it’s just great vibes. I’m excited for my business to be a part of this community and I can’t wait to connect with other businesses and people who live near and far.”
Looking forward, Brittany hopes that Hippie Dippie Threads is just the first step towards building a lifestyle brand that promotes spending time in nature, expanding the mind through travel and building a deeper connection between the mind and body through movement.
