The bald eagle was removed from the U.S. endangered species list in August 2007 after 40 years on the list. Today, eagles have returned to the Hudson River and can be found up and down its banks. The Nyack area is prime viewing territory, particularly in the winter when they congregate near open water. Look for them perched in tall trees, on the lookout for dinner — fish and small animals.
