SUMMARY:Perry Lawson Fine Art Presents: Caleb Weintraub: Both Sides of the Mirror
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to present Caleb Weintraub: Both Sides of the Mirror in the Studio at Perry Lawson Fine Art. Weintraub’s work explores the tension between stability and disquiet\, treating the domestic space as both a source of comfort and the tension that unsettles it. Within these layered environments\, observation becomes both subject and object; watching and being watched coexist as inseparable conditions. \nBlending figural and landscape sensibilities into imagined spaces\, Weintraub situates his imagery between memory and myth. Each element in his heavily impastoed\, textured paintings carries symbolic weight: birds suggest displacement\, trees offer refuge\, and fire embodies both warmth and danger\, comfort and forewarning. \nOpening Reception: Friday\, February 27\, 6-8 PM \nGallery Hours: Friday-Sunday\, 12-5 PM \n

SUMMARY:Film Screening: NAT FEIN: A TALENT FOR LIVING
DESCRIPTION:Most people don’t know Nat Fein’s name—but they know his work. Fein captured one of the most iconic images in American sports history: Babe Ruth’s final appearance at Yankee Stadium\, a photograph that earned Fein the 1949 Pulitzer Prize and became known as #3 Bows Out. This documentary tells the story of a self-made photojournalist working during the golden age of journalism\, whose career at the New York Herald Tribune earned him more NY Press Photographers Association awards than any of his peers. Through interviews with leading experts from AP\, Time Life\, and journalism history\, the film explores Fein’s lasting influence on generations of photographers. More than a photographer\, Fein was a singer\, an artist\, and a person who brought joy to others—a man who truly had a talent for living. This is his remarkable and largely untold story.

SUMMARY:Resonating Earth\, Carolyn Enger\, piano
DESCRIPTION:Harnessing the power found in the fusion of musical and visual artistry\, Resonating Earth is a breathtaking immersive soundscape. Mesmerizing imagery will captivate the eye as live music inspires a mediative space of connection and integration to our natural surroundings. \nAs renowned pianist Carolyn Enger plays works by Bach\, Nico Muhly\, Pia Møller Johansen\, Missy Mazzoli\, Philip Glass and others\, she will take attendees from the glorious heights of mountain ranges in Alaska to mountains of potassium waste in Eastern Germany\, from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to coal burning plants around the world. \nThis stylistically fluid program will feature imagery by visual artists Myles Aronowitz\, internationally exhibited environmental activist\, and photographer\, J Henry Fair and Elliott Forrest (ArtsRock/WQXR). \nBring the entire family to decompress while connecting to the exquisite relationship between humanity and our glorious planet.
