The Levins return to the Nyack Center for their 8th annual “Rally for Love.” The music of the The Levins is a captivating ride through a mystic landscape that uplifts and unite with unflinchingly feel-good musicality that is both soulful and unexpected. This year, The Levins will be performing music from their album, My Friend Hafiz, which was influenced by a book of Sufi-inspired poetry, rendered with a universal appeal to kindness, forgiveness and bliss.

This married couple’s unique approach to harmonies and songwriting are characteristic of Simon and Garfunkel, CSN&Y, Moody Blues, Fleet Foxes and Iron and Wine. With Ira and Julia covering guitar, flute and piano, they will be joined by Mark Dann on bass and Grammy nominee, Sean Dixon, on percussion. This multi-media presentation features videos of dance, aerial work, and holy goofiness by the SF-based Euro-Circus, Sweet Can Productions.

The event once again returns to The Nyack Center, founded in 1990 by a group of concerned citizens, and housed in a renovated historic church in the heart of Nyack, NY.  The mission of the Nyack Center is to create connections across social, cultural and economic boundaries, and to improve the lives of all in Nyack and the larger community of Rockland County. They are dedicated to antiracist action and committed to work to dismantle all forms of oppression. They share The Levins’ passion to learn and grow through our differences and seek a more compassionate society together.

Gather for an evening of original songs, story-telling and heart-centered multi-media presented by The Levins.  The Rally For Love is community, connection, and a concert; an uplifting event that draws diverse, conscious communities together to generate love and good will. Doors open at 7pm / Concert 7:30pm, $20 advance or at the door.
