Walking Tallman State Park from the South entrance, you are drawn to the
dramatic Hudson vistas. On a less traveled trail, however, there is a path
straddled by beautiful marsh ponds. An unnatural landscape, the earthen
berms there are reminders of a human purpose now long since forgotten. In
