His latest book, the seeds of which were planted during his years as an NYU student, is Talkin’ Greenwich Village: The Heady Rise and Slow Fall of America’s Bohemian Music Capital, and he is also the author of seven other books, including biographies of the Grateful Dead, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Sonic Youth and Jeff Buckley. He lives in Manhattan.
