Our next poetry slam is going to be at StorySpace Arts // Studio 101, which is at 48 Burd St in Nyack. If you were at our slam in December, it’s the same venue. Our usual venue, X House, is booked that night for a private event.
Note that Studio 101 is a fair amount smaller than X House; come on time if you want to definitely have a chair to sit in.
As usual, it’s happening the first Saturday of the month — Saturday, May 4th. Doors/sign-ups open at 7:30 PM. Sign-ups close at 8 PM; event proper starts at about 8:03 PM.
Admission is on a sliding scale — $10 general; $5 students, seniors, and anyone who can’t afford $10 right now. $75 prize for 1st place; $25 prize for second place. Slam format / rules @ https://www.rocklandpoets.org/slam-format-rules

We’re still requiring masks because of the vulnerable folks in our community; N-95 (head strap) and KN-95 (ear loop) in a variety of colors will be freely available at the door.
This venue does have some stairs, incl. an entire flight to get to the bathroom, which is not ideal but it’s not always easy to find a venue that checks all our boxes.
