River Hook Sculpture Path
September 8, 2021 - September 30, 2022
Friends of River Hook is thrilled to announce the installation of public art at River Hook (The Hester Haring Cason Preserve) featuring sculptures by prominent local artists. Mark Attebery’s Yellow Grove, James Tyler’s Brickhead Huaca, Janet Rutkowski’s Infinite Possibilities, Sarah Haviland’s Aerie and Cassie Strasser’s On the Move adorn our newly mown sculpture path on the western edge of the property. These stunning pieces join Peter Strasser’s Boulder within Boulder, majestically occupying the Haring House Circle mid-property. All works are graciously on loan for one year.
Public art is one of many exciting initiatives envisioned for River Hook, a vital place for retreat, restoration and revitalization where the arts, environment, education and innovation thrive.
We invite you to stroll through the “green heart” of Upper Nyack—to enjoy the inspiring sights and sounds of the preserve as summer passes into early fall. Enter at 611 Midland Ave or the North Broadway gates to walk this twelve-acre public property from dawn till dusk.
