Spring cannot come soon enough…and the first Saturday of the season brings a Secret Garden Party to Nyack, NY! On March 21st, a group of small businesses are hosting activities for both children and adults, including: a book discussion, tea party, fairy wishing well crafting workshop, and a floral bouquet craft — all within walking distance downtown! The events continue at Glitter Thicket, with a High Tea Party! There will be tea trays full of finger sandwiches (vegan bacon egg and cheese, bacon lettuce and tomato, English cucumber, and hummus avocado), cupcakes, cinnamon swirls, tea cakes, truffles, gluten-free peanut butter cookies and berry bars, and plenty of tea and pink lemonade for all! Everything is vegan and served in the theme of whimsical indoor garden tea time!
There will also be information available about community food and gardening efforts! Learn how you can help with Food Not Bombs, Nyack Soup Angels, and local collective gardening projects and mutual aid groups to increase community food security!
Fairy Wishing Well Crafting Workshop @ 1:30pm ($50/person)Glitter Thicket – 88 Burd Street, Nyack NY
Gather around the crafting table at Glitter Thicket to make your very own fairy wishing well, perfect to keep in your home or place in a tiny fairy garden! Participants will use a hot glue gun, moss, dried flowers, acorns, crystals and other natural and recycled materials to build a tiny wishing well to take home! All materials provided.
