Holiday shoppers should plan to check out the scene in Nyack on “Shop Small” Weekend — Saturday and Sunday, November 28 and 29. Holiday gift seekers will find hundreds of ways to beat “mall monotony” in the village’s eclectic shops and Indoor Street Fair, plus a rich array of casual eateries, fine restaurants and pubs for post-shopping refreshment.

To make the shopping experience all the more pleasurable, free parking will start the day after Thanksgiving and continue every weekend through December 20 in the Village’s municipal lots. Signs throughout the Village will direct visitors to the free parking areas. (Street parking meters will still be in effect.)

The Shop Small weekend kicks off on Saturday, November 28 with special deals in local shops, as well as “Small Business Saturday” rebates for American Express cardholders in participating stores. Cardholders who want to take advantage of the American Express program should register at www.shopsmall.com.

Indoor Street Fair/Gift Gallery

Indoor Shopping Ad Rock ParentThe shopping fun kicks up a notch at Nyack’s second annual Indoor Street Fair/Gift Gallery on Sunday November 29 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Nyack Center. This special holiday event brings Nyack’s favorite merchants together under one roof with previews of their unique and most popular gift-giving ideas ― all hand-selected for the Fair and offered with special holiday discounts.

The Nyack Center is located at 58 Depew Avenue (corner of Depew and South Broadway.) Admission is free.

Nyack’s Chamber of Commerce and Art, Craft & Antique Dealers Association (ACADA) are happy to support this one-of-a-kind event. Holiday shoppers will delight in the distinctive selection of fine jewelry, home decor, art, clothing, chocolates, sweets and hand-crafted gifts curated specially for the Fair by more than 30 merchants. Shoppers will also enjoy a warm, welcoming shopping experience filled with extra surprises, including live music throughout the day.

While finding the perfect gift for everyone on their holiday lists, shoppers will enjoy the sounds of the season offered by the widely recognized Nyack High School Chamber Orchestra. These award-winning teen musicians have routinely placed among the top schools in the country in national competitions and festivals. The event organizers are delighted to once again bring the orchestra’s beautiful music to this unique shopping experience.

To ensure that everyone leaves the day with a smile, street-fair favorite Jamie’s Faces will be on-site creating magical free face painting for the kids.

“Nyack has so much to offer as the holiday shopping season gets under way — one-of-a-kind gifts, Small Business Saturday rebates and special prices for the season, live entertainment, great food, and places to relax and enjoy holiday cheer,” said Scott Baird, President of the Nyack Chamber.

“What’s more, the Indoor Street Fair is quickly becoming the next great holiday tradition in Nyack, offering a glimpse through the windows of some of Nyack’s favorite shops,” said Baird. “Choose the perfect gift, enjoy the music and spirit of the season, then come back to shop the full line in the beautiful and eclectic shops of Nyack.”
