Linda\, a therapist\, has good reason to be at her breaking point: her living room ceiling has just caved in\, necessitating a move to a cheap motel. She is the mother of a child who refuses to eat and must be sustained by a feeding tube. Her husband\, who undermines her\, is a cruise captain on a monthslong trip. She has a patient whose delusions about her baby are very concerning\, and Linda’s own therapist seems to hate her. \nWho wouldn’t be on the verge? \nBrilliantly portrayed by Rose Byrne\, an Oscar nominee for her performance\, Linda’s choices grow increasingly horrible and irresponsible as she suffers one setback after another. The spot on\, disquieting sound design of the film emphasizes Rose’s suffocation.\nThe movie turns a mother’s anxiety into an almost supernatural force. \nDoors to the Nyack Center open at 7:30pm\, and the film begins at 8pm.
