Nyack College Rockland School of Music is welcomes music lovers to the 2016 Spring Concert featuring the Nyack College Chorale conducted by Prof. Joel Jameson on Friday, April 8 in Pardington Hall at 45 South Boulevard in Nyack at 7:30 p.m.
Says Prof. Jameson, “We are doing an unprecedented thing in producing a full-length symphony with a 50-piece orchestra and a 70-member choir.”
Featured vocalists include HaEun Jang, Emily Bellinger, Shelley Jameson, Katherine Wiswell, Rufus Müller, and Joel Jameson. Prof. Craig Williams, choirmaster of the United State Military Academy West Point Cadet Chapel is the organist. Nyack School of Music alumnus, Jamal Sarikoki, will return to conduct Ludwig Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
The concert repertoire includes four pieces from Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs: At the River, Long Time Ago, Simple Gifts, and Zion’s Walls, (arranged by School of Music Dean Dr. Glenn Koponen) and If Ye Be Risen Again With Christ by Orlando Gibbons.
