- Enjoy some classic whodunits withAlfred Hitchcock Presents 2 One Acts where macabre murder mysteries are performed live on stage, directed by Richard Quinn. Fri & Sat at 8-10p at the Nyack Village Theatre, 94 Main St, Nyack.
- Elmwood Playhouse presents Harvey, a classic comedy about a kind hearted, middle-aged eccentric whose best friend is an invisible mythological creature resembling a six-foot tall rabbit. Fri & Sat at 8p, Sun at 2p. Elmwood Playhouse, 10 Park St, Nyack.
- Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go. Unnecessary Farce is an award-winning stage comedy by Paul Slade Smith that combines all the elements of classic farce with a contemporary American plot. Fri & Sat at 8p, Sun at 2p. Antrim Playhouse, 15 Spook Rock Rd, Suffern.
- Beardcomb performs hits from the Beatles, Blondie, Beastie Boys and more. 7p at Castle Inn, 16 S Main St, New City.
- The Historical Society of Rocklandinvites the public to Lasting Legacies 1915: The 40th Holiday Exhibition. Part I, Happy 100th Birthday, Raggedy Ann, celebrates the beloved character while part II, A 1915 Congers Christmas, re-creates a parlor setting decorated for the holidays circa 1915. - Window shopping in Nyack takes on a whole new meaning from now through Jan 31. The Nyack Window Project pairs visual artists with local landlords to create original installations in downtown storefront windows, a project conceived by award-winning set designer and Nyack resident Joanne Howard. Exhibits on Main St and Broadway in Nyack.
Saturday
- Join park staff for an evening Wolf Moon Hike. The route traverses 2 miles on moderate terrain and hikers should bring flashlights. 7p at State Line Lookout Area, Alpine, NY.
- Rivertown Film presents Backpack Full of Cash, a film that explores the growing privatization of public schools and the resulting impact on America’s most vulnerable children. This special fine-cut screening gives the audience a chance to provide input to the Rockland filmmakers who brought you MegaMall. 8p at Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave.
- Doc Lane & Loose Change will “heal your jammin’ blues” with rock, soul, funk and more! 9p at Casa del Sol, 104 Main St, Nyack.
- Edward Hopper House Annual Members Exhibition features William Rauschenbergwho was an Artist Member of the Month. His recent series, In Shadow, an exploration of Edward Hopper’s themes, is on display. 5-7p at Edward Hopper House Art Center, 82 N Broadway.
Sunday
- Opening reception for the photo exhibit Life After Life in Prison. Meet photographer and criminal defense attorney Sara Bennett and hear the four women who are the subjects of the exhibit talk about their experiences both inside and outside prison. 2p at Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave.
- Last chance to see Beautiful Minds: Pure Vision, an exhibit that features 13 artists from the roster of Pure Visions Arts, (PVA) NYC’s only professional art studio devoted to supporting artists with neuro – developmental challenges such as Autism, Downs, Aspergers, and Cerebral Palsy. 2-5p at ROCA, 27 S Greenbush Rd, West Nyack.
- The All Seasons Chamber Players perform favorite works for flute, violin, cello and piano. Registration required. 2-3:30p at New City Library, 220 N Main St.
